‘The Abstraction Gap - transition from arithmetic to algebra through resources and modeling’ aims to investigate the transition from arithmetic to algebra as a challenge for teachers in Danish lower secondary school; and to explore if and how research based resources – when adapted to this context - can support teachers’ efforts to meet this challenge. The Anthropological Theory of the Didactic will be used to offer a new approach to support this investigation in an international perspective.
